Directions

Start at the tourist information office, Niederwall 23.

From there, turn left towards the Old Town Hall (1) and the Bielefeld City Theater (2). Walk back a little way from the Stadttheater and cross the zebra crossing (directly at the Old Town Hall). Keep right and then turn immediately left again into Altstädter Kirchplatz. Continue straight ahead, on the left you will see the Leineweber monument (3) and the Altstädter Nikolaikirche (4). At the church, turn left again into Niederstraße and follow it to Alter Markt (5). Cross the Alter Markt and turn right at the pharmacy into Piggenstraße (small alley). Follow Piggenstraße, which becomes Am Bach. On your right is the Archäo Welle (6). At the end of the street, turn right into Am Bach. Follow the road, which becomes Am Waldhof. Turn left at the crosswalk into Park der Menschenrechte(7). Cross the park with a view of the Neustädter Marienkirche (8). Cross Hans-Sachs-Straße and take the steps (or ramp) to the church. Continue straight ahead to the main street, Kreuzstraße, and follow it to the right until you reach the pedestrian lights. You will see the Naturkunde-Museum namu (9) on your right. Cross the traffic lights and take the path in the green corridor up to Sparrenburg Castle. Keep left at the small fork in the road and continue along Am Sparrenberg. At the next fork in the road, turn right up the footpath. Follow the steps further up to Sparrenburg Castle. Follow the "Zur Burg" markings on the stone. The entrance to Sparrenburg Castle (10) is on the right. Continue left and then take the first footpath on the right before the hiking signs. Follow the path along the castle walls. After approx. 300m you will come to a fork, on your left is the Music and Art School (11). Follow the path to the right. At the end of the path, you will come to the street Am Sparrenberg again. Turn left here until you come to Kreuzstraße. Continue left and turn right at the pedestrian crossing at Adenauerplatz. In front of you is the Kunsthalle Bielefeld (12). Walk along the Kunsthalle until you reach the street Am Waldhof. Cross the street, in front of you is the Kunstforum Hermann Stenner (13). Continue along Am Waldhof, with the sculpture park and the Ratsgymnasium (14) on your right. At the Bielefelder Kunstverein (15), turn left between the houses into the small alley. At the end of the lane on your right is the Haus Müller (16). Turn right here into Obernstraße. Follow the road for approx. 150m and then turn left across the square towards St. Jodokus Kirche (17). Cross the small opening and you will reach Klosterplatz. Cross the square and then turn into Hagenbruchstraße at the first opportunity. Follow Hagenbruchstraße, on your right you will see the Meissener Kachelhaus (18), and turn left again at the 2nd street, Güsenstraße. Follow the street to the end. On your right is the Süsterkirche (19), turn right here into Ritterstraße and follow it. At the crosswalk, turn left onto Jahnplatz (20). Cross Niederwall here and follow the road further to the right until you reach the starting point, the tourist information office.
