Stadttheater Bielefeld

Theatre/variety show
With around 500 performances a year in drama, dance and musical theater, Theater Bielefeld is one of the largest theaters in the region.
Designed by Bernhard Sehring, the Stadttheater was built on Niederwall in an interesting mix of baroque and art nouveau styles and opened in 1904 with Schiller's Maid of Orleans. In order to meet the modern requirements of an opera and playhouse, the over 100-year-old theater building was extensively restored and reopened in the summer of 2006.
