Quarries are dynamic habitats where nature and history come together. Along the route, we encounter impressive rock formations, limestone semi-dry grasslands and structured beech forests. The disused tunnels provide sheltered winter quarters for bats, while rare plants thrive on the warm rock faces. The eagle owl, which once disappeared from the region, has once again found a breeding ground in the quarry walls. From the "Geheimnis Großer Berg", you can enjoy an impressive 270° panoramic view as far as the Münsterland Bay.
