The Natural History Museum is located in one of the city's few remaining aristocratic courtyards dating back to 1540, the Spiegelshof. Here, the permanent exhibition explores the relationship between humans and nature in an exciting and somewhat unusual way - as well as the value of biodiversity and the phenomena of climate change.
A special attraction is the "Geo-Stollen", which continues the ecological themes of the permanent exhibition "underground" from a geological perspective. In an underground atmosphere, the geological processes of the region, plate tectonics and global earthquake events are also explained interactively.
In addition, three to four special exhibitions are shown each year, supplemented by a comprehensive educational and mediation program for children and adults.
