Accessibility statement

OstWestfalenLippe GmbH / Teutoburger Wald Tourismus is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve user-friendliness for everyone and apply the relevant standards (WCAG 2.2, BITV and the EN 301 549 standard) for accessibility. The legal basis is the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) in conjunction with EU Directive 2019/882. This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the OstWestfalenLippe GmbH / Teutoburger Wald Tourismus website published at en.teutoburgerwald.de.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The website is currently partially compatible with the technical requirements in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).

Non-accessible content

The following content is not accessible as it represents a disproportionate burden:

  • There are images without labelling on individual pages. Navigation with screen readers to the images is difficult. | WCAG: 1.1.1 The images from the database are gradually being supplemented with alternative texts. As this involves a large number of images and the images are uploaded by various parties and external interfaces, this is unfortunately still taking time and cannot be rectified by us for all images. We will inform the parties responsible for the images.
  • On some pages there are form fields without labelling. It is difficult to navigate to the form fields with screen readers. | WCAG: 4.1.2
The form for ordering brochures is currently being reviewed. It is a predefined module that our service provider has to customise centrally. Appropriate instructions have been given. We cannot customise this manually ourselves via the website system. (Affects the German language version at www.teutoburgerwald.de and the Dutch language version)
  • There are buttons without labelling on many pages. It is difficult to navigate to the buttons with screen readers. | WCAG: 4.1.2 The unlabelled buttons originate from predefined modules and playouts that our service provider has to adapt centrally. Appropriate instructions have been provided. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system.
  • On a page, a superordinate element is missing the corresponding subordinate elements. This can confuse screen reader users, as content is expected but none is there. | WCAG: 1.3.1 This concerns predefined modules and playouts that our service provider has to adapt centrally. Appropriate instructions have been given. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system. (Affects the German language version at www.teutoburgerwald.de and the Dutch language version)
  • There are interactive elements on individual pages whose names are not part of the labelling. This makes it difficult to control the website using voice control. | WCAG: 2.5.3 This affects predefined modules and playouts that our service provider has to adapt centrally. Appropriate instructions have been given. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system.
  • There are elements on a page whose Aria ID appears several times. This makes it difficult to navigate the website with screen readers. | WCAG: 4.1.2 This affects the brochure order, which is generated from a predefined module. Our service provider must adapt this centrally. Appropriate instructions have been provided. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system. (Affects the German language version at www.teutoburgerwald.de and the Dutch language version)
  • There are lists on individual pages that contain elements that do not belong in lists. As a result, the lists may not be displayed correctly by assistive technologies. | WCAG: 1.3.1 This concerns predefined outputs from our database, which our service provider must adapt centrally. A corresponding note has been provided. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system.
  • PDF files and documents are not yet accessible.
We are working on making new PDF files and documents, such as our brochures, available in an accessible web version. We update our brochures at regular intervals. As soon as brochures are updated, accessibility is taken into account and the version on the website is adapted. Old versions cannot be updated. (Affects the German language version at www.teutoburgerwald.de and the Dutch language version)
  • The facts element, as can be seen at web.destination.one/destinationbase/facts, automatically counts up the numbers, which cannot be stopped at present. The module must be customised centrally by our service provider. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system.
  • Depending on the contrast value of the image, the copyright information on the images may not be sufficiently recognisable.
  • For technical reasons, we are unfortunately unable to store a transcript for videos in individual places such as galleries. The module must be customised centrally by our service provider. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system.
  • Unfortunately, for technical reasons, we cannot add transcripts for videos in individual places such as galleries. We are also unable to insert subtitles or transcripts for playouts from our database for pages on excursion destinations or tours, for example. The module and the database must be customised centrally by our service provider. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system.
