Spiegelshof

historical building
Museum/Exhibition
Noble court in the Weser Renaissance style.

Designated Spiegelshof in 1540, it is a two-storey, plastered quarry stone building in the so-called Weser Renaissance style and is one of the few surviving aristocratic courtyards in the city of Bielefeld. The narrow sides are adorned with crenellated gables. The staircase was added in 1682.

The interior has undergone numerous alterations. As a result, hardly anything of the original room layout remains. At the rear of the building, a hall with a cellar and beamed ceiling has been preserved.

Today, the Spiegelshof houses the Natural History Museum.
