Historische Milchkannen - Erpentrup

Monument
Discover the charming world of historic milk churns in Bad Driburg. These fascinating contemporary witnesses bring the history of dairy farming in the Höxter area to life. Ideal for an excursion to immerse yourself in the local culture. The well-preserved milk churns tell of an era when farmers transported their own fresh milk. A worthwhile destination for anyone who wants to experience history up close.

When the milk still came from the farm: The era of the milk can ramps

In the past, they were part of everyday village life: the milk can ramps. Once a day at set times, the full milk cans were placed on these raised wooden platforms by the farmers and collected by the milk cart. The milk truck driver's work was made easier by the milk can ramps, as the ramps were the same height as the loading area of the milk truck.
