The memorial in Erpentrup/Langeland - history and commemoration

The memorial in Erpentrup/Langeland stood right next to the church in Erpentrup until 1968. Today's memorial was erected in the same year exactly between the two villages. Countess Hella von Oeynhausen provided the land free of charge. The boulders come from the local Eggegebirge mountains. In the middle of the large boulder is the stone plaque from the old memorial, which commemorates the fallen of the First World War. The two other stone plaques commemorate the fallen of the Second World War.

By car:
If you are coming to Bad Driburg, take Dringenberger Straße and Lange Straße until you reach Pyrmonter Straße. The journey takes about 3 minutes and is about 800 meters long.
Then follow Pyrmonter Straße, past Nordfeldmark, the L954, Detmolder Straße and again the L954 until you reach Horner Straße in Langeland. This route takes about 8 minutes and is approximately 6.8 kilometers long.
Then turn right to stay on Horner Straße. After about 15 seconds and 68 meters you will reach your destination.

By bus:
If you start by bus in Bad Driburg at the bus stop "Bad Driburg, Gymnasium St. Xaver", take the R76 bus in the direction of "Sthm-Vinsebeck, Schule". Get off at the bus stop "B.D-Langeland, Ort". From there it is only a short walk to the memorial in Erpentrup/Langeland.
