Whether you are a sporty, ambitious cyclist or prefer a more leisurely ride: between the Teutoburg Forest and the Weser, the area around Bad Driburg offers routes of varying levels of difficulty. From tours on wooded ridges to rides through extensive fields and excursions along flat rivers, there are a multitude of options open to you.
In Bad Driburg, the multi-award-winning Gräflicher Park with its walking paths, water features and rose garden invites you to relax and unwind. The historic buildings in classicist country house style, old English oaks, exotic ginkgo trees, a rare Sumatra maple and magnificent flowerbeds bear witness to Bad Driburg's 225-year history as a spa town.
From here, the tour takes you on the R 51 to Alhausen. This is the birthplace of the doctor, politician and poet Friedrich-Wilhelm Weber (1813-1894), who became famous for the epic poem "Dreizehnlinden".
The route continues to Merlsheim, where the knight's seat is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved examples of Weser Renaissance architecture. The well-kept grounds and a small park emphasize the idyllic location of the castle.
In Bad Hermannsborn, the magnificent listed clinic building in the style of a neo-baroque castle is a sight to behold. There is also the 18-hectare and extremely well-kept Park Bad Herrmannborn with several ponds and watercourses.
