Friedrich-Wilhelm Weber Museum Alhausen

Museum/Exhibition
The listed four-storey farmhouse in the heart of Alhausen was built in 1793 and acquired by the Weber family shortly afterwards. The Friedrich Wilhelm Weber Museum was set up in Weber's former home to commemorate the town's famous son.

Friedrich Wilhelm Weber's birthplace - an insight into his life, work and the 19th century

The birthplace of the doctor, politician and poet Friedrich Wilhelm Weber (1813-1894). He was probably the most widely read Westphalian author until well into the 20th century. His main work, the epic "Dreizehnlinden" (1878), was one of the greatest book successes of his time.
The exhibition shows the life and work of Dr. Friedrich Wilhelm Weber and gives an insight into the living and housing conditions of the 19th century.

The four-storey farmhouse is now a listed building. A herb garden invites you to linger. Among other things, the ancient medicinal plant "Kalmus" can be seen, which Dr. Weber used in his time (Kalmus was already used in monastery medicine in the past).
