Immerse yourself in the world of monasteries and moated castles! On your tour, you will come across impressive historical buildings with their many stories and legends time and again. Cycle through flat, varied stretches of countryside, through forests and along the River Ems.

The tour starts in the rose garden of Rheda moated castle. Take a deep breath and start with the ride through the Flora-Westfalica Park.

The route leads along the Ems through floodplains and alder swamp forest with views of a colorful splendor of flowers. Enjoy the ride through the historic old town of Wiedenbrück. With an ice cream in your hand, linger for a moment on the newly created Emstreppen steps and enjoy the magnificent view of the lake.

Continue towards Langenberg: you pass the Hohenfelde private brewery - one of the oldest private breweries in the country - and marvel at the gleaming copper kettles. Got thirsty? Plan a stop in the center of Langenberg at the rustic half-timbered café "Zur Linde". You're sure to hear the murmur of voices and clinking of glasses from the beer garden.

On your way to Rietberg, you'll reach the 300-year-old "Gut Geissel" - a mixture of Westphalian Schultenhof and modest French manor house. Passing freshly mown meadows and rolling fields, you reach the historic town center of Rietberg, which is well worth seeing. From the town hall, we recommend a detour to the monastery church and crypt of the former monastery. Later, you will reach the "Münte" manor house. The baroque building housed the count's residence. It also served as the residence of the highest administrative official of the Princes of Kaunitz-Rietberg.

You then follow the Ems. You will soon reach Rheda-Wiedenbrück and return to the starting point.
