Klostergarten Rietberg - Skulpturenpark Wilfried Koch

Park/gardens

The monastery garden on the River Ems, which was used by the Franciscans until 1975 before it was closed when the monastery was dissolved, was awakened in 2007 from a slumber that had lasted over thirty years. With the help of the "New 'Old' Gardens" program in East Westphalia Lippe, this inner-city natural space, which has been handed down to the present day, was restored and transformed into a public park. In combination with the sculptures by Dr. Wilfried Koch, this has created an ideal place to linger and relax for the residents of the historic town center of Rietberg and its visitors.
