Pre-Christmas atmosphere with Santa Claus and the scent of Christmas.

On Saturday, November 28, 2026, it's that time again. The traditional Herster
Knuspermarkt will open its
doors for a few hours from 3.00 pm for the 33rd time. The vanilla smell of freshly baked waffles and the spicy accent of
hot mulled wine welcome visitors from near and far to the Herster Schützenhaus
in the warmest possible way.

Diligent hands have once again set up a variety of stalls and stands and
offer guests relaxation and recreation from the hustle and bustle and stress of the
pre-Christmas days. Santa Claus and his sinister companion, Knecht Ruprecht, have once again packed their sack with little surprises for the children. The Herste Music Association has
rehearsed its most beautiful Christmas carols to lend the market a festive atmosphere.

While the adults can enjoy mulled wine and other treats,
the youngest guests can create a letter or
wish list for the Christ Child and enjoy some other playful
entertainment. A tombola rounds off the rich offer of this market.
Certainly the organizers of the Herster Knuspermarkt more than 30
years ago did not expect that this small Christmas market would become a permanent
institution in the village life of Herste. In addition to the desire to maintain
communication and tradition, the initiators made the commitment
to donate the surplus from the market to a good
cause, as they do every year.
