The listed villas of the Steinmeister family are among the most opulent witnesses to the cigar industry in the city. While number 45, the building once erected by Friedrich August Steinmeister around 1860, was rebuilt and extended by his son Carl at the beginning of the 20th century, the adjacent villa of the first-born August Jr. was built in the neoclassical style around the same time. The plots of both buildings were quite generous and extended as far as the Else. August Steinmeister created a series of fish ponds on this site and established the Else fish farm. One of these ponds is still preserved today in Steinmeister Park.
