Glasmuseum in Bad Driburg

Museum/Exhibition
The glass museum in the Heinz-Koch-Haus in Bad Driburg vividly presents the development of Bad Driburg as a glass production and glass trade location as well as the life and work of the glassmakers.
Glass craftsmanship, glass production and the glass trade have significantly shaped Bad Driburg's 725-year history. The global brand "LEONARDO" is at home in Bad Driburg - as are the well-known companies "Ritzenhoff & Breker" and "Table Roc".
The history of glass craftsmanship began in the second half of the 11th century with the first forest glassworks around Bad Driburg.

The glass museum uses display boards and exhibits to illustrate how glass was produced, refined and distributed in the Bad Driburg glassworks. The exhibition provides an insight into the life and work of glassmakers from the 16th to the 20th century and provides information about the glass trade and the links between the glass and spa industries.

In addition, there are regular special exhibitions with exhibits and sculptures by contemporary glass artists.

Since 2006, the glass museum, which is run by the "Friends and Supporters of the Glass Museum" association, has been located in the Heinz Koch House in the town center.
