You can rest on numerous benches and take in the green splendor. Three huts offer shelter in the event of a rain shower and enough space even for larger picnic parties. From the vantage points you have a wonderful view of the town of Bad Driburg with the church of St. Peter and Paul in the town center. Whether for a short walk or as the destination of a longer hike on the Sachsenring - the Buddenberg Arboretum is always worth a visit!

An arboretum (from the Latin word for "tree": arbor) is a park in which mainly trees and shrubs are displayed. The Bad Driburg "Buddenberg Arboretum" is located in the east of the town near the Gräflicher Kurpark. The route to the parking lot at the arboretum is signposted from Brunnenstraße. It is located on the Sachsenring hiking trail marked "S" and can also be reached via the parking lots on this local circular hiking trail.

The Buddenberg Arboretum was created in 1965-1966 on the initiative of Adolf Buddenberg, then chairman of the Kur- und Verkehrsverein, and bears his name in his honor. For many years, the remarkable park fell into oblivion; it has now been restored and maintained by the town of Bad Driburg for some time. Among the town's parks, the arboretum is still an insider tip for connoisseurs. In the small park, over 200 species of trees and shrubs from all over the world are waiting to be discovered by visitors.

The paths are conveniently laid out and of course you are allowed to walk on the meadow areas so that you can touch and photograph the many different leaves, flowers and fruits.
