For all those who like to travel longer distances, the signposted "Paderborner Land Route" and "Kloster-Garten Route" have been linked to form a joint 450 km round trip.

Experience the Hochstift cycle tour through the districts of Paderborn and Höxter on your e-bike. Enjoy the varied landscapes and sights between Sauerland, Egge, Teutoburg Forest and Weser. Outstanding destinations along the way include the railroad viaduct in Altenbeken, the former prince-bishop's residence Neuhaus Castle, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Corvey, Wewelsburg Castle, Mariemünster Abbey, the bison enclosure at Hammerhof and the many monasteries, castles and estates that characterize the region.

Although the Eggegebirge mountains have to be crossed twice on this tour through the hilly landscape of the Hochstift, it is still possible to simply roll along thanks to the river valleys and historic railroad lines.

This tour is the recommended route for the "Hochstift cycle tour" package. The daily stages of 37 to 93 km have medium to higher requirements, which are ideal for cyclists with an e-bike.

Directions

From Hövelhof, follow the signposted Paderborner Land Route to get to Herbram Wald via Paderborn and Altenbeken. There you leave the Paderborner Land Route to follow the red and white signs (NRW cycle network) to Neuenheerse. Passing the Eggedom cathedral, you will come to the signposted Kloster-Garten route, which you follow in the direction of Dringenberg. Shortly before Brakel-Riesel, the Kloster-Garten-Route, which is laid out as a figure of eight, meets from three directions. Here you turn off towards Bad Driburg, unless you want to pay a visit to the town of Brakel.

On the next stage of the day, follow the signposted Kloster-Garten route to Höxter.

On the third stage, you will once again reach a point at the mouth of the Nethe where the Kloster-Garten route splits into three directions. Follow the route to Beverungen and then via Bad Karlshafen, Borgentreich and Warburch to Hardehausen. Leave the Kloster-Garten-Route here at the actual spur road to Hardehausen Monastery and follow the red and white signs again. This time the destination is Blankenrode. From there, follow the signposted Paderborner Land Route again until you reach your destination of Hövelhof.
