This unsignposted circular route through Rödinghausen and Bruchmühlen is a varied and hilly tour for cyclists with a good level of fitness who are interested in the topic of monuments.

The route starts and ends at the train station in Bruchmühlen (Mellerstraße 1, 49324 Melle-Bruchmühlen).

This circular route takes you along the mountainous southern slope of the Wiehengebirge with wonderful views and through a very varied landscape. After starting at the train station in Brüchmühlen, the route heads north, always close to the Kilverbachtal nature reserve, through Darnau and Westkilver to Haus Kilver. Along the way, several information boards of the NaturWanderRoute "twas duüer" (across) invite you to take short breaks. You can learn interesting and entertaining facts about nature, the landscape and local history. After visiting the numerous monuments in the center of Rödinghausen, the route becomes really hilly and now often runs along forest paths. After 12 km, you have reached the highest point of the route at the 274 m high Nonnenstein. From the observation tower you have a wonderful panoramic view over the Ravensberg hills. Continue along the Kammweg for a good stretch downhill to the Neue Mühle - be careful at the junction with the busy Hansastrasse! After crossing the railroad line on a historically interesting bridge, the route continues uphill to the Rilke memorial stone. A new cycle rest area invites you to take a well-earned break. The last 13 km are almost all downhill back to Bruchmühlen.

An alternative starting point is the "Mesch Neue Mühle" train station. It is easily possible to set off from any other location on the route.

The Bruchmühlen train station can be reached from Bünde, Herford and Bad Oeynhausen. Bicycle transport is possible here (limited).

Further information on the route and the waypoints can be found on the cycle leisure homepage of the district of Herford: www.fahr-im-kreis.de. A brochure is also available there as a free download.
