The listed Böckel estate is located near Bieren in the municipality of Rödinghausen. It was first mentioned in a document in 1350. Until her death in 1976, the estate was the residence of the writer Hertha Koenig and was therefore closely associated with culture. Rainer Maria Rilke stayed here for a few months during the First World War. Since 1991, it has been privately owned by the Leffers family, who use it as a farm and make it available for art and cultural events. The estate park was laid out around 1900 and is part of the "European Garden Heritage Network". The entire site is only accessible to visitors during events. Groups can visit the park by prior arrangement.
