The Water Kingdom at Flora-Westfalica Park

Discover, experience, relax—and admission is free.

The 3-kilometer-long Flora-Westfalica Park not only connects the historic town centers of Rheda and Wiedenbrück, but also offers countless opportunities to spend an unforgettable time with your loved ones.

But the former site of the State Garden Show now has even more to offer: With the new Wasserreich, Flora-Westfalica Park has gained even more highlights: The interactive adventure trail imparts valuable knowledge in a playful way and has plenty of surprises in store, while the new Ems riverbank next to the skate park is the ideal spot to dip your feet in the water and unwind. Dive right in!

The adventure trail opens the door to a world of nature full of little wonders for young and old alike. At six varied stations, the motto is: look, try, marvel, and get involved. Sometimes your gaze goes high up into the trees, sometimes deep into the grass, or straight into the mysterious world of water. Exciting discoveries await everywhere—from encounters with animals to surprising facts about plants to experiments that show just how vibrant and valuable our environment is. Those who set out on this journey experience nature not just in passing, but with all their senses: curiously, playfully, and time and again with a genuine “aha” moment.

The newly redesigned Ems riverbank is a place where exercise, nature, and relaxation come together in a special way. New large rocks along the riverbank offer the perfect opportunity to soak up the sun while dipping your feet in the cool water and watching the natural flow of the Ems, lost in thought.

The Barefoot Trail offers another unique experience, bringing visitors tangibly closer to nature. So, please feel free to walk on it. Also inviting: the convenient rest area, which is perfect for picnics. If you’d like to take a little nap afterward, you’ll find plenty of space on our spacious loungers, where you can dream of the park’s other attractions and adventures.
