Steinbruch Langes Tal

Tip
Tourist attractions – various
Near Schlangen, erosion processes have formed the so-called Long Valley. The subsoil is formed by thick layers of limestone, which were created around 100 to 88 million years ago from skeletal elements and shells of creatures from a prehistoric sea. Corresponding structures can still be discovered today as fossils. To illustrate this, there is a sculpture plate at the entrance to the quarry, which shows some fossils in their original size.
