Rosenberg near Bad Driburg: nature, history and views

The Rosenberg is a steep, approximately 260-metre-high elevation between Alhausen and Bad Driburg to the south. The mausoleum on the Rosenberg is the burial place of the Count von Oeynhausen-Sierstorpff family. The obelisk next to it commemorates the founder of the spa, Caspar Heinrich von Sierstorpff. In 1792, he acquired the Rosenberg, which had been used as a pasture for cattle, had it reforested, planted hedge roses, laid out footpaths and integrated the hill into the landscape of the Count's Park. Follow the Kaleidoscope Trail along the top of the Rosenberg and enjoy the view of Alhausen, the Count's Park and Bad Driburg.
