This circular route highlights the many contrasts that the district of Herford has to offer. Urbanity meets rural seclusion and tranquillity. From Löhn train station, you first ride leisurely via Haus Beck and past numerous ancient trees to Mennighüffen. From the Ulenburger Weg, things suddenly become quieter and the landscape takes center stage. After a detour to Ulenburg Castle and its mill, the route continues along Ulenburger Allee through Obernbeck. At the end of a short ascent, you have a wonderful view of the Ravensberg hills. After crossing the Werre, you reach the Martin Luther Church in Löhne-Ort.
From here, the highest point of the route follows after a few climbs at the local history museum in Bischofshagen. Almost exclusively downhill, you reach the valley of the Mittelbach stream, which drives the water wheel of the Rürupsmühle mill. On the grounds of the mill, which has been lovingly restored by the "From Grain to Bread" association, you can linger by the mill pond or explore the farm garden. The route then leads through the Mittelbachsiek, past Kemenas Mühle back to the Werre. The route then follows the Werre cycle path back to Löhn railroad station, where two cigar factory villas worth seeing await you before you reach your destination. The route leads almost exclusively along roads with little traffic, independent cycle paths and asphalted farm tracks, some of which are closed to through traffic. This means that the circular route is also suitable for families with children.
Further information on the route and the waypoints can be found on the cycle leisure homepage of the district of Herford: www.fahr-im-kreis.de. A brochure is also available there as a free download.

Directions
From the starting point at Löhn railroad station, the route heads southwest, crossing the Werre at the bridge and following it downstream to reach the Löhne municipal grammar school. After this, the route moves away from the Werre and leads past the Fichtensee lake and along the Mühlenbach stream to the Ulenburg moated castle, the northernmost point of the route. From there, the route heads south again along Ulenburger Allee, before leaving the avenue to the right after approx. 1.2 km and passing the Obernbeck elementary school to the Christuskirche Obernbeck church. Behind the church, the route turns right again and after approx. one kilometer turns left into Voßsiek and continues to the mouth of the Else-Werre. There it continues in an easterly direction, passes under the freeway and after 250 meters turns right at the crossroads to cross the Werre again and then continues to the right to the Martin Luther Church. Behind this, the route continues to the left and under the railroad line. Directly behind it, the route turns left again and passes the Löhne-Ort elementary school before turning left again at Falscheider Straße and leading to the local history museum in Löhne. At the mill, the route turns right again and then right again to continue eastwards to the Rürupsmühle. From there, the route continues in a northerly direction past the Naturfreundehaus to Kemenas Mühle west of Aqua Magica. The route then heads north to the Werre and along it upstream back to Löhne. Behind the sports field, the route curves past the music school and then returns to the starting point at Löhne railroad station.
