MARK BENECKE reports on two cases from the Ruhr region in which the deceased was found in an organic waste garbage can in the garden at home. In both cases, the surviving relatives stated that the death had been natural and that the concealment had only served the purpose of continuing to receive benefits from care or pension insurance.
In case 1, the person responsible stated that the body had been lying for around 3 years, while in case 2 it is said to have been half a year. Both bodies were packed in plastic bags. What secret does the insect infestation reveal?
