Borgholzhausen - also known as "Pium" - was granted town rights in 1719. As a result, numerous tradesmen settled here, including honey and gingerbread bakers. Linen production and above all the Thorbecke family's trade also flourished. At the end of the 19th century, meat factories, a steam dairy and a margarine factory settled in the town. After the Second World War, many new companies were founded. Today, many local companies from a wide range of sectors can be found in the inter-municipal commercial and industrial area on the A33. Original sites and photos of original buildings bring Pium's economic past to life on this tour. Experience trade, industry and commerce in Pium.
