The Luisenturm in Borgholzhausen stands on the 291-metre-high Johannisegge in the Teutoburg Forest. It was originally built in 1893 in honor of the Prussian Queen Luise and has enjoyed great popularity ever since.
The current fourth wooden version dates back to 1991: it is approx. 19.5 m high, has 5 floors and a viewing platform at a height of around 16 m.
The tower is accessible free of charge, and at weekends the rustic Luisenturm hut invites visitors to stop for refreshments and a rest. On a clear day, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Ravensberg Hills, Münsterland, Wiehenland and Weserbergland - even as far as the Sauerland and Porta Westfalica on a clear day
The Luisenturm is located directly on the popular Hermannsweg and is embedded in the approximately 8 km long "Luisenturmweg" - a varied circular tour through the surrounding forests and hills.
