The cycle path for connoisseurs is a great way to enjoy the ride. The particularly sporty among you can take on the total distance of 115 kilometers as a day trip. If you prefer something a little more leisurely, opt for one of the five suggested circular routes, which start in the towns of Borgholzhausen, Halle (Westf.), Versmold, Werther (Westf.) and Steinhagen.
The routes are between 20 and 40 kilometers long - suitable for every fitness level. They can be easily cycled by e-bike or with pure muscle power and lead past castles, churches and half-timbered buildings in historic town centers. Attractive, picturesque routes take you through the Patthorster and Tatenhauser forests as well as through nature reserves such as the Salzenteichsheide or along the wetlands in Hörste.
On the southern circular routes, you cycle mainly on flat paths. While the tours in the north are always more hilly, which requires a bit of fitness. On the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest, there are even small mountainous challenges waiting for you in some places.
Good to know: Special places, numerous places to stop for refreshments and pure nature invite you to take a leisurely break and enjoy in between.
