Kreuzkirche Wiedenbrück
On November 8, 1953, the Kreuzkirche Wiedenbrück was consecrated and handed over to the Wiedenbrück community. The four-bell peal is housed in the approximately 27-meter-high tower. It is one of the largest surviving steel bells in northern Germany. A church "of sublime simplicity", as the local press described it at the time.

An eye-catcher is certainly the crucifixion group created by Bernd Hartmann, which is an important testimony to the Wiedenbrück school. The nativity scene, acquired in 1948, was created by the sculptor Heinrich Püts around 1920/1930. Originally consisting only of the Holy Family, it was completed over the years to its present form by the sculptor Petra Rentrup. In 1991, after many years of collecting, the old organ was replaced with a new instrument (16 stops / 990 pipes) from the Steinmann company.

In 2016 and 2017, the church was extensively modernized with a renovation and extension under the direction of architektur-werk-stadt Balhorn Wewer Karhoff, Paderborn. The new windows on the south side were designed by Paderborn artists Jörn Neumann and Michael Lönne and contain the words from Jesus' Great Commission from the Gospel of Matthew 28:18-20: "go - baptize - teach". In the windows on the west side, it is the conclusion of the Bible text: "I am with you - always - until the end of the world".

Today, the church is multifunctional. The new functional rooms (kitchen, WC, office, storage area) are housed in the single-storey extension. Part of the church room can be partitioned off by a glass wall. The entire church hall is used for large events such as confirmations, Christmas or concerts.

Opening hours:
There are no regular opening hours. Services are held on Sundays from 11.00 a.m., with communion on the 1st Sunday of the month. On every 2nd weekend of the month, central services are held at different times (possibly also on Friday or Saturday) and at different locations. The normal Sunday service is therefore canceled.
