Kaiser-Karls-Turm

Vantage point/Observation tower
The Kaiser-Karls-Turm is located near the Iburg ruins on a hilltop above Bad Driburg with a magnificent view of Bad Driburg and the surrounding Eggegebirge/Teutoburg Forest.
The Kaiser-Karls-Turm stands next to the Iburg ruins. The foundation stone for the tower, which was named after Emperor Charlemagne, was laid on August 9, 1903. It was officially opened in June 1904. Above the tower entrance, a bronze plaque with a quote from the epic poem "Dreizehnlinden" (1878) by local poet Friedrich Wilhelm Weber is embedded in the sandstone masonry. After climbing 80 steps to a height of 18 meters, you have an outstanding view of Bad Driburg and the Eggegbirge mountains. The tower is open during the day and accessible free of charge. The Eggegebirgsverein is happy to receive a donation. You can take a relaxing break in the nearby Sachsenklasue.
