The former Modexen forester's lodge and its surroundings are being transformed into a forest experience school for children and young people's environmental education as part of the "Exquisite Nature" project of the Kulturland Kreis Höxter. A rustic training/seminar room in the former barn offers space for approx. 15-20 people. Animal exhibits and excursion materials are available to borrow on site. A pond and a nature observation platform are located in the immediate vicinity. An educational forest trail and a school forest with various tree species round off the programme. The forest adventure school is directly connected to the Brakeler Stadtwald circular hiking trail.
The Modexen forest school is open to all groups involved in nature and environmental education on request.
