Erlesene Natur: Beobachtungspunkt an den Nieheimer Tongruben

Nature panel/information centre
A special observation point has been set up here to observe the water birds in the Nieheim clay pits.

A screen wall erected on a hill prevents the birds from being scared off by the visitors and fleeing. The birds in the clay pit can be observed particularly well from the hiding place. If you are patient, you might even spot the kingfisher in its shimmering plumage. The concert of tree frogs and pond frogs, on the other hand, is easy to hear and peaks during the warm, humid nights in May and June.
