The Bülte cross in Pömbsen
The Bülte cross is a historic wayside cross on the outskirts of Pömbsen, a district of Bad Driburg. It is located in the middle of a rural setting and is part of the region's cultural and religious history.
The stone cross probably dates back to the 19th century and once served as a place of prayer or quiet devotion for passers-by. Today, it is an inconspicuous but well-preserved small monument that is easy to reach on walks or hikes in the surrounding area.
Its location in the open countryside makes the Bültekreuz a peaceful spot for a short rest. It is exemplary for numerous small religious monuments in the region, which point to the former importance of faith and customs in the everyday life of the rural population.
