Musical Week Start
It is meant to serve the relaxation of body and soul, promote health, is rather light-hearted in nature, and naturally appeals to a broad audience: curative music. A particularly successful proponent of this genre is the "Bad Salzuflen Orchestra".
The founder and conductor of the State Spa Orchestra is the native Hungarian György Kovacs, who studied clarinet himself and obtained his diploma at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest.
The daily curative music can be heard with an ensemble of up to seven musicians, in the mornings and afternoons, except on Mondays. During the winter months, the orchestra performs with a smaller ensemble. The curative concerts feature potpourris in the first half, for example from operettas and overtures, and in the second half, musical and hit melodies, swing, Dixieland, and more. Special concerts have specific themes, such as the Italian journey featuring music by Verdi and Rossini, or French composers like Bizet and Massenet. The most attended are the request concerts on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons.
