Melodies of yesterday and today
It is intended to relax body and soul, promote health, is rather cheerful in nature, and naturally appeals to a wide audience, the spa music. A particularly successful advocate of this genre is the "State Bath Orchestra."
The founder and head of the State Bath Orchestra is the native Hungarian György Kovacs, who studied clarinet himself and obtained his diploma at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest.
The daily spa music can be heard with an ensemble of up to seven musicians, in the mornings and afternoons, except on Mondays. During the winter months, the orchestra performs with a smaller ensemble. The spa concerts feature potpourris in the first half, such as from operettas and overtures, and in the second half musical and pop melodies, swing, Dixieland, and more. Special concerts have specific themes, such as the trip to Italy with music by Verdi and Rossini, or French composers like Bizet and Massenet. The most widely attended are the request concerts on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons.
