The signposted, scenic and varied tour through the north-east of Herford offers good refreshment stops.

This very entertaining circular route leads through the varied landscape to the north and east of Herford and runs through the spa gardens and the historic old town of Bad Salzuflen. From Herford, the route first heads north along the Werre floodplain on a roadside cycle path to Schweicheln-Bermbeck, where it turns east up to the Eggeberg. During the ascent, there are always new views of the hilly landscape. Once you reach the ridge, you will be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view as far as Bad Oeynhausen on one side and Herford on the other. A rest area invites you to take a breather before descending into the Salzetal valley. Once there, the mini golf course and beer garden of the "Zur Loose" restaurant invite you to take a break. The route continues through the Salzetal valley to the spa gardens in Bad Salzuflen. The historic old town with its numerous half-timbered houses then invites you to take a stroll through the pedestrian zone. You then cycle along the Werre back to the starting point in Herford.

The tour runs for the most part on independent or roadside cycle paths as well as on asphalted farm tracks without significant car traffic. Only a total of 1.4 km of the route leads over roads with traffic.

Alternative starting points are the train station in Bad Salzuflen or the hikers' parking lot at the "Zur Loose" restaurant. The train station in Bad Salzuflen can be reached from Herford or Detmold and Lage with the Westfalenbahn. Bicycle transport is possible here (limited).
