Grafting an apple tree to experience nature

If you have learned to appreciate the apples of old varieties and would like to graft a tree yourself, this "NaTourErlebnis" will give you the opportunity to do so. Frank Meier, a trained nursery gardener, grows the long-forgotten "Lippischer Paradiesapfel" and knows all about grafting. After theoretical knowledge has been imparted at the Krämer tree nursery in Detmold, practical exercises will follow during the morning, followed by a guided tour of the nursery. Here you will see the development from grafting to fruit tree. The material for trees (rootstocks and scions) will be provided. Please let us know which apple variety you would like. Of course you can also bring your own scions. These should be pencil-thick and annual. At the end of the event, each participant will take their own grafted apple tree home with them.

Please bring a sharp knife and rose shears.
