An informative walk to discover the secret inhabitants of the city center.

Rumpelstiltskin, Cinderella, or Puss in Boots: Hidden away in various spots throughout the town of Bad Oeynhausen are 14 heroes from the most famous fairy tales—in the form of small bronze figures just waiting to be discovered. Christina Langhorst guides participants on a quest to find these secret residents.
This time, however, the focus isn’t just on the heroes themselves, but above all on the stories behind them. Perilous journeys, magical helpers, enchanted places: What motifs from folk beliefs lie behind the characters in these fairy tales—and why? Who were the creators of these stories? And why have they fascinated people for generations?
This accessible guided tour combines city exploration, literary history, and fairy-tale culture into a varied experience. Fascinating background information and surprising insights into the world of traditional fairy tales make this tour a special treat for anyone who enjoys the stories of our ancestors and cultural history. The tour is suitable for ages 12 and up and begins at the Fairy Tale Museum.
