Storck House in Werther (Westphalia) - origin of the caramel sweets "Werther's Echte"

The Storck House - a Wertheran architectural monument - was built around 1760 by the merchant Joh. Friedr. Bolenius. The exterior façade was renovated in the early 20th century. In 1903, August Storck (called Oberwelland) took over the property as a residential and office building and subsequently founded the "August Storck Werthersche Zuckerwaren Fabrik". Since 1985, the building has been used by the Ravensberg adult education center and is still a central point for many citizens of our city today.
