From the hiking parking lot, hikers walk through the natural green belt below the comprehensive school and pass through the Ulmenweg and Eichenstraße housing estates via Weststraße into the Teutoburg Forest, the source area of the Schwarzbach stream. The Venghauss Mill was the upper of 5 former water mills on the Schwarzbach. One of 4 tributaries of the Schwarzbach comes from the Teutoburg Forest, above the Venghaus farm, another from the forest area above the "Lindenweg". They merge below the parking lot at the sports field and flow parallel to the Teutoburger-Wald-Weg towards the city center. In the forest, you can take a detour to the Arminius spring. On the way back towards the city center and the starting point, hikers pass the "Knochenmühle" industrial monument. This is one of the oldest factories in the Gütersloh district. Passing the Meyerfeld sports facility, the hiker reaches the destination and is back at the starting point, the hiking parking lot at the comprehensive school.
