Kopp's two-part installation mirrors the daily outward and return journeys on Eichenallee, completing the movements and stories of going and coming. There is nothing emphatically representational about the artwork. Only the two plug-in connections of the corresponding end faces bear witness to the artist's signature. The tree relics lie facing each other at a distance of around 30 meters; as if, despite their distance, they are attracted to each other; like magnets at the edge of their force fields - close enough to make their togetherness tangible, yet far enough not to be able to connect with each other. The sculpture is worked in such a way that the two trunks fit together perfectly. What protrudes from one tree as an edge piece finds the corresponding recess on the other trunk and vice versa. In this way, what once really belonged together is completed in the mind of the viewer.
