Petri Kirche

Church

Old church in the center of Versmold

The existence of St. Peter's Church has been documented since 1096. The late Romanesque core building was constructed around 1250 AD and was continuously extended over the centuries. The church is always good for historical surprises, such as when several statues of evangelists were discovered hidden in the church tower a few years ago.

The Petri Church has been bright, inviting and friendly since the most recent renovation, which was completed in December 2008 after an eight-month renovation phase.

The baroque pulpit on the south side of the chancel is probably the most valuable piece of cultural history. It was probably made in the early 18th century.

In addition to religious life, cultural events also take place in St. Peter's Church from time to time.
