Memorial in the park to war and tyranny

The memorial park with its ensemble of sculptures was created in 1961 at the rear of the town hall square. The peculiar composition of interlocking crosses is a direct reference to the pain of the victims of war and tyranny to whom the square is dedicated.

The creator of the artwork was Bernhard Kleinhans, an artist from Sendenhorst. His task was to completely redesign a memorial to the victims of both world wars.
