Discover the history of agriculture in the Hille museum barn

In the heart of the picturesque village of Hille, the museum barn on the historic estate of the von Oeynhausen farm (formerly Reimler's Hof) invites you to explore. Located at Dorfstraße 18, the barn is run by the dedicated "Alte Brennerei Hille" association. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of agricultural work around 1900 and learn about the working methods and tools of the time.

Authentic insights into the working world of farmers around 1900

The museum barn houses an impressive collection of historical agricultural equipment. Old plows, seed drills and various tools show how farmers used to cultivate the land, sow grain and process their harvest. The lovingly restored tools bring to life the challenges and everyday life of farmers back then and provide an understanding of the origins of modern agriculture.

Celebratory opening with an open barn door day

On July 15, 2023, the museum barn was presented to the public as part of a festive open barn door day. The opening attracted numerous visitors, who enthusiastically discovered the exhibition and the activities surrounding the farmstead. This special day marked the start of a new cultural attraction for Hille and the surrounding region.

An exciting place of learning for schoolchildren

The "Alte Brennerei Hille" e. V. association is particularly looking forward to introducing school classes and young people to the rural working life of their ancestors. Exciting guided tours and interactive experiences will give young visitors the opportunity to experience the challenges and ingenuity of the farmers of the past for themselves.
