The Lindenhaus Sanatorium and Nursing Home was founded in 1811 by Princess Pauline as one of the first institutions based on a new concept. It went on to have an eventful history, which came to an end in 1951—140 years later—with the relocation of its last residents.

Today, 75 years later, we set out to explore the small neighborhood in the immediate vicinity of Brake Castle.
