Kurienhäuser an der Elisabethstraße

historical building
The row of houses on Elisabethstrasse are an impressive historical testimony.
Among others, canonesses and top officials of the prince abbey resided in the half-timbered houses from the 17th century. In the 17th century, the Labadists found refuge in house number 7 under the protection of Abbess Elisabeth v.d. Pfalz. In 1999, Heinrich Wemhöner built Germany's only history hotel at number 9, with numerous exhibits from the history of the prince abbey. Seven bronze reliefs from the town's history are located in the passageway from the street to the courtyard.
