Small forest in the middle of Spenge

The small woodland area, which used to belong to the Mühlenburg and is now owned by the district of Herford, is now home to several attractions. The former lumberjack's cottage is called the "Hühnerhaus" and is maintained by the "IG Katzenholz" on a voluntary basis as a nature learning site. A mighty family tomb ("Erbbegräbnis") is a reminder of the aristocratic owners of the Mühlenburg.
