The Knochenmühle industrial monument is one of the oldest preserved factories in the district of Gütersloh. According to oral tradition, this property was founded in 1825 as a mining operation. At a later date, it was converted into the Jörgens Voerkel chemical factory. The transmission shaft, the scales, the bone meal plant and a mighty chimney have been preserved to this day.
