This section offers an enticing overall package: unspoiled nature, diverse history, fascinating art and important industry. From the center of Steinhagen - after a detour to the museum - you hike through the Teutoburg Forest up to the Kaiser Friedrich Hütte. At the Arminius spring, you reach the "Riechen" rest area. After the descent, Werther awaits you with a cornucopia of sights. It's all about bone glue, a famous painter and plenty of confectionery.
