In 1990, Bernhard Eusterbrock took over the 500-year-old family farm from his father Franz. At the time, the farm comprised 33 hectares of arable land, 10,000 laying hens and 700 fattening pigs. Over the following years, the full-time farmer converted the farm to rearing pullets and reduced the number of fattening pigs to 500. In 2016, he and his wife Margret considered partially converting from conventional farming to organic farming. As a result, the fattening pigs were completely abolished and the rearing of pullets was adapted to current standards. In addition, 4,800 apple trees of the Santana, Topaz and Natyra varieties were planted on an organic basis. Since then, we have been supplying regional farm and organic stores, as well as fruit and vegetable retailers, and will soon be expanding our range to include walnuts, peaches and apricots.
Regional and sustainable organic quality has been our motto ever since.
