Between October and March, the Höxter-Godelheim leisure facility is in hibernation. In order to avoid frost damage to the pipes, all sanitary facilities are out of service and closed.
Of course, the play and sports facilities are still accessible and can be used. The "Strandgut" restaurant is also open on many days of the week.
Boating on the lake is prohibited from 1.11. to 31.03.
If the lake is frozen over: It is forbidden to enter the ice surface!
The Höxter-Godelheim leisure facility was funded by the EU.

- There is no rescue service monitoring on the water.
- Due to wind and fluctuations in the water level, it cannot be guaranteed that the ice surface will remain stable throughout.
- Whoever steps onto the ice surface is putting their life in danger! The human body cools down extremely quickly in the very cold water and there is a risk of immobility and drowning in a very short time.

Is there blue-green algae in the bathing lake?
Blue-green algae occur naturally in the water. Most species are harmless to humans, but some can form toxins and have an impact on health. High temperatures and plenty of sunshine are ideal conditions for the growth of algae. Blue-green algae can then also multiply to an undesirable extent. High concentrations of blue-green algae can cause allergic reactions and skin irritation in humans, as well as nausea, diarrhea and vomiting if swallowed. Small children and sensitive people in particular should therefore avoid contact with blue-green algae.
If we detect blue-green algae in the water, we will inform you immediately.
